Dominic Willmore retains Corfe Mullen 5km trophy for Poole AC

Dom Willmore finished strongly to retain his Corfe Mullen 5km title by finishing in the much-improved time of 16 minutes 13 seconds. Dom was a full 33 seconds ahead of nearest rival, unattached runner Dave Hicks. This was Dom's third victory in the event winning last year and also back in 2016. Finishing third this year was Joe Godden from Poole Runners in a time of 17 minutes 10 seconds.

In the ladies race it was Hayley Martin who took the top spot finishing in 18 minutes 30 seconds. Hayley's victory ensured that Poole AC were triumphant in both the male and female categories in this year's event. Following Hayley across the line was Lauren Baker-Little. Lauren, competing for Poole Runners, finished in 20 minutes and 18 seconds. Finishing just 25 seconds behind Lauren was teammate Clare Wood who was the third lady to cross the finish line.

First to finish was Harry Samways in a time of 5 minutes and 30 seconds, followed by Max Drozdowski in 5 minutes 48 seconds, taking third place was Fletcher Sherren in a time of 5 minute 55 seconds.

Many thanks to you all

The Carnival Committee would like to say a big "thank you" to all the runners who turned out to compete in this year's Carnival Run. The support for our race from the local running community is truly outstanding and has already helped us raise a considerable amount of money for local charities and good causes. Your support is very much appreciated. Profits from this year's race will go towards Wessex Heart Beat, The Louis Ross Foundation, Friends of Lockyer's School, Diverse Abilities, and Corfe Mullen and Wimborne First Responders.

Our thanks also go out to the many race stewards and officials who have given up their time freely and have contributed immensely to the smooth running of the event. Once again, our special thanks go to Mike Towner and his team from Poole Runners - your help and continued support is invaluable.
