Dominic Willmore ends Poole AC's six year wait for a Corfe Mullen 5km victory

Dom Willmore finished strongly in this year's race to claim first slot in a time of 17 minutes 14 seconds, a full 12 seconds ahead of his nearest rival. In the ladies race it was Caroline Wilkins, running for Poole Runners, who took the top spot finishing in 19 minutes 22 seconds, improving on her second place from last year with a much-improved time. Following Caroline across the line was Lytchett Manor's Jenny Walker-Leach in a time of 20 minutes 44 seconds. Taking the final podium position was Clare Wood in a time of 21 minutes 16 seconds.

Many thanks to you all

The Carnival Committee would like to say a big "thank you" to all the runners who turned out to compete in this year's Carnival Run. The support for our race from the local running community is truly outstanding and has already helped us raise a considerable amount of money for local charities and good causes. Your support is very much appreciated. Profits from this year's race will go towards The Green Island Trust, Going for Bust and Poole Sailability.

Our thanks also go out to the many race stewards and officials who have given up their time freely and have contributed immensely to the smooth running of the event. Once again, our special thanks go to Mike Towner and his team from Poole Runners - your help and continued support is invaluable.
